Met up at the James Hall Transport Museum on Friday the 10th of June and the walk started towards Vryheid, lovely drive good company and we booked in at the Shonalonga Lodge and met up with our other Volvo club friends that were already there. Off to the Vryheid Vintage Car Clubs clubhouse for some lekker graze and a few drinks from the cash bar. Saturday the 12th June the weather decided that it is time to play up and gave us a wet, cold and miserable day. On arrival at the show grounds Andre and Howard arranged all the cars parked in a large circle. The Volvo stand reserved every year is always the biggest club stand only for the Volvo club. This year we had 25 entrants (last year 32 Volvo’s). 22 of the entrants being Volvo’s and a WHOPPING 10 1800’s! After the show back to the VVC club house – watched the rugby and yes…Ireland beat the Bok’s what an dissapointment! Another great meal and kuier before hitting the sack and the drive home. Well done to Andre de Haan and the VVC! Next year is the 10th Volvo Walk to Vryheid!
